{"id":292,"date":"2026-03-08T05:21:55","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T09:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/international\/scholarship-opportunities\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T02:20:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T06:20:55","slug":"scholarship-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/international\/current-students\/scholarship-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholarship Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"container-fluid page-wrapper body-links\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<section id=\"main-content\" class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h1 class=\"page-header\">Scholarship Opportunities<\/h1>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"bodytext\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/Images\/Curt-Nichols-BJ-1.jpg\"><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFunding<\/h4>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\tA limited number of maintenance grants and scholarships are available and these are awarded on the basis of academic merit.&nbsp; Many of our partner universities permit students to work on campus for a limited number of hours per week providing they are in possession of the relevant permit or visa.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tAvailable awards include:<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<strong>Caribbean Integration Programme Bursaries<\/strong> &#8211; This bursary is available to registered, full time undergraduate students who:<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>have completed two (2) full-time semesters of study at their respective campuses;<\/li>\n<li>are not entering their final semester<\/li>\n<li>are not pursing a degree Programme in the Faculties of Law, Engineering or Medicine<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\tThe award will be based on:<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>good academic performance (a minimum GPA of 3.0 ) in the previous year\u2019s University Examinations<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>verifiable involvement in co\u2013curricular activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>WIGUT Travel Bursary<\/strong> &#8211; WIGUT, the UWI academic staff union, has set up a small fund to finance a limited number of Travel Bursaries to assist with the cost of travel from home to the country of choice.&nbsp; Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.&nbsp; The Travel Bursary is based on academic merit and financial need.&nbsp; Bursaries will be awarded annually based on availability of funds.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<strong>Canada-CARICOM Scholarships<\/strong> &#8211; These scholarships provide funding for short-term exchange opportunities for study or research at the undergraduate and graduate levels.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tScholarship values vary depending on the duration and level of study.
