Fees 

Full degree Programmes:  A brochure providing international student tuition fees/programme fees for full degree and diploma programmes as well as independent Study Abroad can be downloaded HERE.  

Exchange students are exempt from paying tuition fees to The UWI Cave HIll Campus. Their tuition fees are paid directly to their home university.    However there are some mandatory university fees which must be paid by ALL students prior to registration:

Additional Costs

In addition to your airfare and the relevant university fees, you should budget for the following:

Accommodation (per month)

These estimates are for accommodation off campus in a private, self-catering apartment/studio or house shared with one or two persons. Meals are not included. The cost will be higher (about US$500) if you do not wish to share.

Home Stay - You also have the option of staying with a family. The cost is approximately US$50.00 per day, which includes accommodation (private bedroom and bath), breakfast and dinner. ***

Payment Options

Students must pay all fees which apply to them, in full prior to their arrival in Barbados. Payments may be made by wire transfer, bank draft or credit card. The student's letter of acceptance will contain the student’s UWI identification number which will allow them access to the University’s online payment system. Students may make part payments to their account in the months preceding their travel to Barbados. However, all payments must be received prior to arrival.  
 

Refund Policy

The University reserves the right to cancel any course if enrolment is below its required level. Students enrolled in any course at the time of cancellation will be entitled to a refund of any fees paid.

A student who opts to withdraw from a course will be granted a refund of fees based on the date on which the application for withdrawal is made in writing as follows:
 
  • 30 days prior to the start of the course  100%
  • 2 weeks prior to the start of the course  80%
  • Less than 2 weeks  70%
 Requests for refunds are made to the Bursary.
