”The Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies (Cave Hill Campus) will host a Postgraduate Lecture Series virtual webinar entitled “Women in Academia: The Untold Grit, Grind, and Growth” on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Caribbean Time).

This webinar seeks to examine the multifaceted experiences of women in academia, with particular attention to mentorship and research, doctoral studies, motherhood, leadership and representation, non-doctoral faculty experiences, and institutional culture and policy reform. The discussion will highlight the intersection of academic life with professional qualifications, work–life balance, and organisational dynamics within higher education.

The event will feature a panel of distinguished scholars and practitioners, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. It forms part of the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue, advancing gender equity, and supporting postgraduate scholarship and professional development.

The webinar will be held virtually via Zoom and is open to postgraduate students, early-career academics, faculty, staff, and members of the wider academic community.”
