Required from all MPHIL, PHD, and DBA applicants:
- The Research Proposal: Your research proposal (no more than 3,000 words, 1.5 spaced and justified) should contain the following:
- Proposed title of research
- Proposed research supervisor ( you should review the profile of lecturers in your chosen field on the www.cavehill.uwi.edu website
- Background to your study ( using academic literature sources)
- Aims and objectives of study
- Proposed research question(s) or hypothesis
- Proposed methodology
- Expected research outcomes and contribution
- Work plan to completion
- Reference list

After submitting your application, you will receive an email containing a unique document upload link within 5-7 business days.
- Keep this link safe as it is your gateway to tracking your application. This link provides access to the document upload portal and application status updates.
- All documents must be certified/notarized by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or School Principal/Deputy Principal.
- We accept only .pdf, .jpg, or .jpeg files. No MS Word files will be accepted.
- Processing begins only after all supporting documents are uploaded.
- Kindly note therefore that a valid email address is required to complete the application process.
- Important Note on Document Upload Fields:
- Only upload documents that are relevant to your application.
- DISREGARD any fields that do not apply to you (e.g., deed poll or marriage certificate if these are not applicable).
- Do not upload blank pages for fields that are not applicable to you.
- If a document type is not applicable to you, leave that field empty.
- Application Status & Documents:
- "Unprocessed" and "Items Outstanding" status means your application is awaiting processing.
- When transcripts are received from institutions, your record and the transcript field in CHAD will be updated accordingly.
- When referee reports are received, your record and the referee report field(s) in CHAD will be updated accordingly.
- Check your application progress through the CHAD portal.

This is a true copy of an original document which is signed and stamped indicating that the original was seen and dated by a professional person. This person should not be related to you.
Important Information
- Applications submitted between November 2024 and January 31st, 2025, will receive correspondence by March 31st, 2025.
- Applications submitted between February 2025 and March 31st, 2025, will receive correspondence by May 31st, 2025
- Applications submitted between April 2025 and May 31st, 2025, will receive correspondence by July 31st, 2025
