Paths to Character

Paths to Character

In 2018, the IGDS:NBU begun its collaboration with the University of Oxford and Tulane University on the Promoting Agency Trust and Hope among Incarcerated Barbadian Youth Project.

PATH is a multi-faceted intervention integrating four key components jointly aimed at transcending the physical, social and economic isolation of residents at the Government Industrial Schools.  At its core, PATH seeks to promote positive interactions between youth in conflict with the law and  members of the wider community. The interventions are designed, implemented and evaluated by the Oxford-West Indies Developmental Justice Consortium, an interdisciplinary network of academic and clinical professionals from the West Indies, the UK and the US with joint expertise in moral psychology, adolescent development, forensic psychology, ethics, gender studies, and social policy. The project director is Dr. Tonya Haynes, while Dr Alison Denham - who is cross-appointed to Oxford University and Tulane University, is the Co-Director.
