Senior Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences (BCS) under our Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, Dr. Popuri has been a driving force behind sustainable materials development, resource recycling and energy recovery. His unwavering commitment to environmental solutions has earned him international recognition and cemented his legacy in the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).

Dr. Popuri’s academic journey began in India, where he earned a PhD. in Chemistry from Sri Venkateswara University. Since then, he has expanded his research expertise to encompass membrane technology, wastewater treatment, biopolymer applications and renewable energy. His work transcends theoretical science, focusing on practical innovations that tackle real-world environmental challenges. His global influence is evident in his collaborations, including a tenure as a Visiting Scholar in Taiwan and participation in international research projects aimed at sustainable advancements.
