I chose the UWI Cave Hill Campus because it is relatively close to home and I heard about their Ecology and Environmental Science programs.
The best aspects of studying at this campus are building friendships with other students and lecturers and embarking on/participating in the field trips. I think they concretize the concepts that I learn in my classes and they give me a “hands-on” opportunity of experiencing what my future job could look like.
My dream is to work within the field of Environmental Science or Ecology. I am going into my third year and the courses I have done so far have provided me with a great deal of knowledge. They have also given me guidance towards the area of Ecology that I want specialize in. I’ve learned a lot from these courses, and I am now able to identify organisms; understand why they behave the way they do and learn about ways to conserve them.
My advice for prospective students would be to choose a major that they are passionate about because it will make their experience more enjoyable!
