Being at UWI was a great experience for me, excluding the excess workload and the deadlines to meet! I mostly enjoyed making new friends from across the Caribbean in classes, FYE, UCCF and other social groups. I will always remember the opportunity I received to travel to Jamaica for a week for a cultural tour with the First Year Experience programme.
The Major in Ecology programme was very practical. Through several field excursions, we were able to improve our skills in observation and application more quickly than in traditional lab or classroom settings. I have also developed analysis and interpretation skills, as well as skills in using software such as Excel and R to create charts and diagrams needed for research. Finally, we learned how to snorkel in one of our courses. This was pretty awesome and very useful, since I will be conducting my future studies in the marine environment.
Other Information
I am very passionate about music. I currently play 3 instruments and would love to study music in much greater detail, particularly production and composition. I also enjoy playing tennis, video games and solving Rubik’s Cubes.
