FSS Image Gallery - Social Work Week 2018 in Review
This year, the Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work & Psychology’s Annual World Social Work Day celebration was bigger and better.

Ably organized by Social Work student Mr. Allan Thompson as part of his Field Practicum with the guidance and  supervision of lecturer Ms. Therese James, this year The UWI Cave Hill Social Work students took to the streets of Bridgetown on March 20th, 2018 and held their banners high in honour of this worthy profession.

Attendees at the march included UWI lecturers, The Barbados Social Workers Association, The Barbados Child Care Board, The National Assistance Board, Barbados Welfare Department, The Royal Barbados Police Force, and students of Queens College and the Barbados Community College to name a few. Participants wore green t-shirts in acknowledgement of this year’s World Social Work Day theme of environment and community.

As a continuation of the World Social Work Day celebrations, a panel discussion was held the following evening on the topic “Waste Management: A Community Approach”. View the photo gallery below.
