About the Programme
The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) is academically equivalent to the Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) and prepares candidates to provide significant, research based, original contributions to management practice. It consists of a menu of business studies and methodological courses, two major seminars drawn from a pool of complementary fields of study. It culminates in a public defense of a 50,000-word dissertation.
The DBA is a four-year programme delivered by a diverse team of senior academics drawn from the UWI community, overseas scholars as well as senior private and public sector practitioners at doctoral level of their qualifications and experience.
This programme aims to develop a cadre of highly trained Caribbean business leaders through rigorous management, research and application of theory to practical activities so as to enhance the competitive capacity of firms within the Region. It will facilitate the further development of the Region and will encourage critical research in all areas of management.
The programme is delivered in a virtual learning modality using contemporary technological resources.
