Bio
Dr. Ankie Scott-Joseph, a Vincentian national is an Organisation of American States (OAS) Scholar and currently works as a Lecturer in Economics. Previously she worked as an Economic Statistician in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Debt Management Advisory Services Unit (DMAS). Prior to joining the ECCB, she served as an Economist in the Ministry of Finance, St Vincent and the Grenadines. She has held a consultant position at the United Nations.
Dr. Scott-Joseph has published articles in regional journals, where her main research interest is in Macroeconomics with emphasis on fiscal policy and debt sustainability. Dr. Scott-Joseph serves as a Research Associate of the Journal of Business, Finance and Economics in Emerging Economies. She is currently a member of the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance research group on Debt Sustainability.
In 2007, Dr. Scott-Joseph received the International Association for Official Statistician, New Zealand, prize for the best papers written by young official statisticians. Dr. Scott-Joseph holds a B.Sc. in Economics from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, a master’s degree in Econometrics from the University of Manchester in the UK and a Ph.D. in Economics from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
Dr. Scott-Joseph has been an E-Tutor for four (4) Economic courses at the Open Campus: Introduction to Micro Economics, Introduction to Macro Economics, Economic Development and Managerial Economics she has also lectured in Econometrics I. Dr. Scott-Joseph has served as an External Examiner for The UWI, Cave Hill Campus.
