Mirroring the Faculty’s administrative structure, the MSA is led by a President who also serves as the Faculty of Medical Sciences Representative on the Guild of Students. Supporting the President are two Vice-Presidents: one for Preclinical & Health Sciences and the other for Clinical Sciences, ensuring that all student cohorts are effectively represented.
Our mission is to showcase the dynamic and multifaceted world of the medical sciences while cultivating a community where students are informed, engaged, empowered, and represented. We advocate for students on both academic and social matters, while promoting wellness, camaraderie, and faculty pride.
Signature MSA events such as the Faculty vs. Students Cricket Match and the Annual FMS x MSA Student Awards Ceremony, along with faculty-wide initiatives in youth advocacy, community engagement, and faculty branding, help strengthen the connection between students and our faculty community.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, the MSA will be spearheading a wide range of impactful initiatives under three core pillars:
● Outreach – featuring Teddy Bear Clinics, Childhood Obesity Advocacy, and Enhanced Sexual Health Education, all aimed at promoting compassion, awareness, and health literacy in the wider community.
● Welfare – with a renewed focus on mental health awareness, through resource development, peer support, destressing events and safe spaces for open dialogue and care.
● Wellness – including Health Fairs, volunteer check-up services, and FMS Workout Sessions, offering students both practical clinical exposure and opportunities to prioritize their own health.
At its core, the MSA exists to enrich the university experience, balancing the demands of medical education with the joys and benefits of student life. Through mentorship, advocacy, outreach, and social involvement, our goal is to support the development of well-rounded, compassionate, and skilled future healthcare professionals.
