Bio

Initiated outreach Surgical Clinics in 4 major polyclinics in Barbados thus facilitating patients to access specialist surgical services in the polyclinics and reducing waiting time for SOPD appointments.

Started & Developed minimal access surgery program and with Mr Harris Thoracoscopic surgery program at Faculty of Medical Sciences, UWI, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados.

Performed the first major minimal access surgery (Laparoscopic cholecystectomy) on Feb 11, 1996 at QEH.
One of the first countries in the Caribbean to offer all public patients this facility thus reducing Hospital stay for patients and early return to normal activity thus reducing financial burden to the government.

Performed the first CAPD insertion for continuous   peritoneal dialysis services in Barbados to facilitate Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis initiated by Prof G Nicholson.

Organized workshops, conferences, international visitors to QEH to improve quality of health careResearch & Benefactions.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Anniversary Award of Merit in 1998 for outstanding contribution to the delivery of health care in Barbados.

Awarded the Minister of Health Award at the 43rd Anniversary Awards Ceremony, November 11th 2007.

Inaugural Research Day in 2010 for best applied research project for the long running diabetes amputation work.
