Bio
Dr. David Byer is a trained fulltime emergency physician and is currently practicing Emergency Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and Sandy Crest Medical Centre in Barbados.
He has been a physician from 1995 and a postgraduate-trained Emergency Physician from 2002.
He is currently the Consultant at the QEH with special responsibility for Pre-Hospital Emergency Care and is directly responsible for the Emergency Ambulance Service in Barbados.
Dr.Byer is the Medical Coordinator for the Medical First Responder (MFR), EMT-Basic and Paramedic Courses of the Barbados Community College.
Dr Byer is also the current Medical Director for the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs.
Recipient of Order of British Empire (OBE), (Queens New Year’s Days Honours 2020 Barbados Award) for service and contribution in the field of Emergency Medicine.
