Research Areas
- Experience working in an animal lab utilising different investigational techniques and procedures including in vivo imaging, electroretinography (ERG), subretinal injections and anaesthetic delivery
- Investigator for several large commercial multicentre randomized control trials (RCT)s
- Qualitative and quantitative imaging techniques including electron microscopy (TEM), confocal and fluorescence microscopy
- Immunohistochemistry and staining procedures using a variety of primary and secondary antibodies and alternative fluorophores
- Epidemiological and general statistical methods of analysis eg. SPSS, Prism
- IT experience using Office and research specific software including bibliographic programmes
- DNA extraction techniques and high-resolution melting (HRM) analysis for genotyping
- ELISA techniques
Chief Investigator for the Diabetes Retinopathy Knowledge, Attitudes and Practise (DR-KAP) study in association with Sightsavers International and Caribbean Council for the Blind (CCB). This is a regional epidemiological study covering 5 territories across the Caribbean.
