
Dr O’Shea is a Lecturer in Surgery in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and Associate Consultant General and Renal Transplant Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados.
Dr O’Shea graduated from the UWI with a Doctor of Medicine in General Surgery in 2006. In 2008 Dr O’Shea completed fellowship training in Renal Transplantation at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. She returned to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados in 2009 and was promoted to Consultant General and Renal Transplant surgeon.
Dr O’Shea served as Head of the Dept of Surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados, between 2013 to 2016 before joining the UWI as lecturer in Surgery. She is the Caribbean Coordinator for the Commonwealth Tribute to life project and is passionate about the development of ethical organ and tissue donation and transplantation in the Caribbean region.
Dr O’Shea serves an Associate editor of the Journal of the Caribbean Colleges of Surgeons.
