

The Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Dr. Damian Cohall has been featured by The Royal Society for Black History Month in the United Kingdom. The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.
In the article, Dr. Cohall outlines his motivation as unravelling the medicine in plants which is essentially connected to the original use of those plants. It also highlights that indigenous knowledge and practices with the use of plants contributed to the development of Westernised science, knowledge and practice in medicine.
