

The Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Dr. Damian Cohall has been featured in an article entitled “How researchers can work fairly with Indigenous and local knowledge” published in Springer Nature’s Career Feature section.

In the article, Dr. Cohall highlights the the contribution of indigenous knowledge systems to scientific advancement in medicine and how indigenous knowledge, even though suppressed by the bearers of the dominant westernised knowledge-based systems, can used in an ethical, equitable and sustainable way to empower societies.
