Biography: Elaine Rocha was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She has been studying history for about 30 years and teaching for 26 years, 21 of those at university level. Dr Rocha has lived in different regions of Brazil, including the Amazon, Santa Catarina (South), and Rio de Janeiro, as well as other countries such as South Africa, Mozambique and Ethiopia. Besides being a Historian, Dr Rocha has sporadically acted as journalist and published a few articles in newspapers and magazines
