About the Programme

A programme designed to transform you into a 21st Century facilitator, administrator, and researcher in Science and Technology subject areas.
 

What Will I Study?

You will:

  • Acquire 21st Century instructional skills of facilitating the learning of Science and Technology concepts, principles, laws and theories
  • Develop assessment skills that drive instruction in Science and Technology
  • Learn about the integration of Science and Technology subjects and how to integrate technology with your instructional process
  • Acquire research skills in Science and Technology education issues
  • Acquire Programme Evaluation skills

Research

Our faculty conducts research in the areas of Science and Technology students’ learning outcomes as well as in the measurement of Scientific and Technological Literacy.

Admission to the Master of Education programme will normally require:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree of at least Lower Second Class Honours and the Diploma in Education of The University of the West Indies or any other diploma or certificate in Education acceptable to the School of Education;
  2. A Bachelor’s degree with courses in Education acceptable to the School of Education; 
  3. A Bachelor’s degree and a Teacher’s College Certificate that are both acceptable to the School of Education;
  4. The Bachelor of Education Degree of the UWI or 
  5. Any qualification deemed to be equivalent by the appropriate committee of the Faculty of Humanities and Education.
