Entry Requirements for the ADE

Early Childhood Education and Primary Education Programmes

A MINIMUM of FIVE (5) CSEC subjects at General Proficiency Grades I, II or III; OR FIVE (5) GCE Ordinary level passes OR the equivalent. These subjects should include:
  • English A
  • Mathematics
  • Social Studies or History or Geography
  • Science - Integrated Science or Human & Social Biology or Agricultural Science or Pure Science, and
  • One (1) additional subject

Interested persons who do not have the full qualifications should call their local college for information on how they can become eligible for entry to the programme of their choice.
 
 

Secondary Education Programme

MINIMUM of FIVE (5) CSEC subjects at General Proficiency Grades I, II, or III, OR the equivalent GCE Ordinary level passes, including English Language.

In addition, specific entry requirements for specialisation in the various subject areas will be:
  • CAPE (2 Units) or GCE Advanced level passes, or an Associate Degree in the specialist subject (Major)
  • At least a Grade 1 pass at the CSEC level or the equivalent in the specialist subject (Minor)
 
 


Technical & Vocational Education (TVET) Programme


A MINIMUM of FIVE (5) CSEC subjects at General Proficiency Grades I, II, or III, OR the equivalent GCE Ordinary level passes, including English Language, Mathematics AND at least one TVET subject related to the programme to be pursued (e.g., Industrial Arts or Home Economics).

NB: Interested persons can also enter the ADE programmes under the Mature Student designation.
