Effective writing, particularly at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, encompasses a large number of skills, including the finer points of grammar, organising ideas in a logical and elegant fashion, and conducting rigorous research. This is true for all disciplines at the Cave Hill Campus.
The Writing Clinic is a central resource for students and staff of the Campus, which aims to supplement the gamut of tertiary level writing needs and to accommodate students who need additional help or want to improve their writing skills.
The Clinic aims to help students enhance their academic performance by using active learning strategies that are student-centred, writing-focussed, and process-driven. Ultimately, we aim to produce UWI students who can engage actively and confidently with the writing process to create strong, self-aware and independent thinkers and writers.
We offer:
- Constructive feedback
- Half-hour sessions (an hour if needed)
- Individualised attention from FOUN instructors
- Appointments or walk-ins
