The Caribbean in Digital Spaces
Research into the Caribbean in Digital Spaces is interested in some of the ways cultural expression online re-locates the region’s cultural identities beyond our shores. Focused on the Anglophone Caribbean, this project is drawn to narratives and presentations that originate elsewhere, usually disseminated through visual media, and the response to them from the imagination of Caribbean cultural citizens. This project attempts to look at how notions of Caribbean post-colonial and diaspora identities, usually envisioned in a cultural tug-of-war with larger, metropolitan countries, measure up to the promise of global (beyond national or regional) identities online.
