Dis/Course is published bi-annually and highlights students’ work produced for their ALP classes. It showcases writing from our four courses. The journal emphasises the writing process as much as the “finished” product. Exemplary writing will be curated by Instructors from the ALP with reflective commentaries on the research and writing methods underpinning the prose.
Dis/Course shares the best of our students’ writing both with the UWI community and with a wider audience. An equally important goal is to demonstrate how that writing works and how it was developed through the various stages of the writing process.
The Journal will accept submissions on a semester basis and will illustrate the kinds of academic writing our courses focus on from expository and argumentative papers, to reflective pieces, as well as creative non-fiction pieces of various modes of writing (description, interviews, memoirs, narrative arguments).
The inaugural issue of the online Journal titled Dis/Course will be published shortly.
Submissions will be accepted from current and past students of an Academic Literacies Programme course.
