Bio

Ian Craig was born in Lincoln, England and studied at the University of Essex and the University of London, from where he obtained his doctorate in Hispanic Studies. He worked as a translator in Madrid for two years before coming to Cave Hill in 1999.

Research Areas

His research over the last two decades has mostly centred on study abroad by Caribbean students, as well as analysis of intercultural competence as a component of internationalization in the Caribbean context. He has also conducted research in the areas of Latin American and Caribbean film, translation in the Caribbean, Francoist censorship, and contemporary Cuba.
