Dr Desrine R. Bogle is an interdisciplinary scholar. La traduction intraculturelle (2014), her translation theory for comparative Caribbean Creole paremiology, demonstrated in her seminal work The Transatlantic Culture Trade: Caribbean Creole Proverbs from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, highlighted the paremiological similarities in the Caribbean. Her analysis of the translation of Trinidadian Bhojpuri into French by ChatGPT highlighted the inadequacies of GenAI in translating Caribbean culture. Her review of psychological trauma in the Francophone Caribbean addressed the knowledge gap in English in psychotrauma prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, training, research, and support/awareness in Martinique, Guadeloupe, and French Guiana.
