Bio

Dr. Jules is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Senior Lecturer at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. She serves as President of the Barbados Society of Psychology and is a former OAS/CICAD Research Fellow. A UWI postgraduate scholar and Commonwealth split-site scholar, she was also a visiting doctoral scholar at the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on psychoeducational assessment for Caribbean populations, educational transitions, and psychosocial influences on health-related behaviours among adolescents and young adults in both online and offline contexts.

Research Areas

Dr Mia Jules has an interest in the development and validation of psychoeducational assessment instruments for Caribbean populations and the wider diaspora, in addition to researching psychoeducational factors which contribute to and hinder the successful transition of child, adolescent and adult learners through Caribbean educational systems. Dr Jules also publishes and conducts research about various psychosocial factors that influence health-damaging behaviours among adolescent and emerging-adult populations in online/offline contexts.
