Historic Parish Hikes

Untitled-2.png

Eleven historic parish hikes form a major component of our 60th anniversary celebrations, with one hike scheduled to take place in each parish every month. The first hike got underway on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the National Botanical Gardens, St. Michael. The final hike is slated for Sunday, November 26 at the Orange Hill Playing Field in the parish of St. James. ALL are invited to register, pay and join us as we enjoy the breathtaking and historic views while we traverse the length and breadth of Barbados.

Historians will be assigned to each hike to identify and explain the heritage assets in each parish. Each hike is expected to commence at 3:30 p.m. and last approximately 2 to 3 hours. Participants are advised to arrive at the venue of each hike between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to complete the registration/check-in process before the commencement of the hike at 3:30 p.m. and be briefed in advance on any important information relating to the hike.

These hikes are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the captivating scenery and learn about Barbados. They also present a fantastic opportunity to improve your fitness and enhance your mental health.  So come on out! Invite your friendsfamily and colleagues to join the experience.

Registration fees per hike are BDS$20.00 for adults 18 years and older and BDS$5.00 for children between 5 and 17 years old. Group rates of BDS$15.00 apply to groups with at least 15 persons.
