#11 Historic Parish Hike - St. James

 
The destination for our eleventh Historic Parish Hike is St. James, known as the 'platinum coast' of Barbados.
St. James is a picturesque and culturally rich parish known for its white sandy beaches, historical significance, and high-end shopping. 
 
  • Type of Terrain: Flat, Hills
  • Level of Difficulty: Moderately Strenuous St. James Hike Flyer
  • Starting and ending point: Orange Hill Pavilion
  • Photos: Great for Photos

Proposed hike route:
  • Begin at the Orange Hill Playing Field, then venture pass the Chefette Lancaster area, crossing over the road into the HOPE Project area.  Then, follow a trail leading to the Lancaster Plantation, and travel pass the Westmoreland Golf Course area before returning to the Orange Hill Playing Field.

Marvel at the wonders while traversing through the Orange Hill Area, and passing the Lancaster Bridge, the Tower at the Lancaster Plantation, and the enchanting Westmoreland area.
 
  • Nearby Historic Points to Note: Hear the History behind the St. Thomas Church, Rock Hall Freedom Village, Holetown, Folkestone Park and the Porters Factory.

NOTE:  Hike Attendees are to arrive at the hike venue between 2:30 pm & 3:00 p.m. the latest.

N.B.:
  Please be reminded also that we will be having our informal After-Hike Lime after our St. James hike concludes at the Orange Hill Playing Field area.  So, remember to bring your own drinks and food and come relax with us after the hike for about two (2) hours!
