Frank Alleyne was a founding member of the \u201cBuyers Club\u201d in the late &#8217;70s and&nbsp;early &#8217;80s on the Cave Hill Campus. He used his energy and dedication to be part of the ten founding&nbsp;members who applied to the Registrar of Co-operatives in 1985 to register as a Savings Society.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h2>Rule, Regulations and Procedures&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<p><strong>1. Name of scholarhip&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scholarship shall be called the Frank Alleyne Memorial Scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>2. NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS, DURATION AND VALUE OF AWARDS<\/p>\n<div>a) One (1) scholarship for a maximum duration of three (3) years will be awarded.<\/div>\n<div>b) The value of the scholarship will be BDS$5,000 per annum.<\/div>\n<div>c) The Scholarship is offered every three (3) years under this agreement.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>3. Eligibility and field of study<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>a) Citizens of Barbados who have gained admission to any Campus of The University of the West Indies<\/div>\n<div>to read for a degree majoring in Economics.<\/div>\n<div>b) Applicants will be required to establish financial need by providing a budget with their monthly<\/div>\n<div>expenditures.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>4. Tenure of scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>a) During the tenure of the scholarship (three years), there will only be one recipient of the scholarship.<\/div>\n<div>b) The continuance of the Scholarship shall be subject to reports of good conduct and academic progress<\/div>\n<div>on the part of the Scholarship holder. The recipient of the scholarship will be required to maintain a<\/div>\n<div>GPA of 3.0.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>5. Selection and award procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>a) The Scholarship shall be advertised by The UWI, Cave Hill Campus.<\/div>\n<div>b) Applications should be sent to Student Affairs (Records), The UWI, Cave Hill Campus, by May 31,<\/div>\n<div>in the year the Scholarship is being offered.<\/div>\n<div>c) The UWI Cave Hill Campus will provide The UWI (Cave Hill) Co-operative Credit Union with a<\/div>\n<div>short list of four (4) students along with supporting documents. The final selection decision will lie<\/div>\n<div>with The UWI (Cave Hill) Co-operative Credit Union.<\/div>\n<div>d) The award of the Scholarship shall be announced by The UWI, after the selection is made by The UWI<\/div>\n<div>(Cave Hill) Co-operative Credit Union.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>6. Financial procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a.
