Assessments and Final Examinations

Semester II, 2019/2020 coursework assessments and final examinations will be rescheduled. A subsequent announcement will be made regarding how these will be administered.
Summer School 2020 Cancelled

Accommodations and provisions will be made in Summer for students eligible for re-sits, supplementals or other examinations at the end of Semester II, 2019/2020.

Suspension of Classes

In keeping with The UWI’s emergency response plan to COVID 19, campus administration has taken the decision to suspend all classes from tomorrow, 18th March, 2020, resumingon 6th April 2020, pending further developments.
All other campus operations will continue during this period in which efforts will be intensified to deliver teaching online, wherever possible, when classes resume.
Travel Amidst COVID-19 Developments

Regional and international students who wish to return to their home territories due to concerns regarding COVID-19 are permitted to do so. However, students are required to complete a leave of absence form available through their Faculty website or Faculty office. The request must clearly indicate the reason for leave. Students are reminded that on return to Barbados, they may be quarantined by national health authorities.
No Hold on Student Accounts

Following the decision to postpone all classes, students are notified that all holds on student accounts will be suspended in order that they may be able to access online instruction.
However, students are encouraged to continue to make online payments to their accounts.
Access to Study Spaces
17/03/2020
During the current suspension of classes at The UWI, Cave Hill campus, students are reminded that classrooms, lecture rooms and other teaching spaces will be closed. Computer laboratories, libraries and other study spaces including those at the Graduate Studies Building will remain open.
Students, however, should not congregate in gatherings of more than 20 persons. Individuals in such groups should, also, always maintain social distancing (remain at least 6 feet apart).
