CERMES has always had a number of outstanding women working in fisheries science, and especially in small-scale fisheries. The webinar brought together professionals to share their perspectives on this theme.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"row border-bottom pb-3\">\n<div class=\"col-md-5\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/Research-Projects\/IYAFA\/Images\/Seminar_on_SSF.png\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 170px;\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-7\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Virtual Seminar on Small Scale Fisheries in the Member States of the Organisation of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS)<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tIYAFA WECAFC Champion, Dr. Patrick McConney spoke on \u2018Regional policy actions and lessons learned for strengthening small-scale fisheries food systems: a Caribbean view\u2019. He shared the complexity and diversity of the regional fisheries policy and its protocol, incorporating the small-scale fisheries guidelines, regional initiatives and lessons learned.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\" style=\"color:#0000FF;\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Other Activities<\/strong>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"row border-bottom pb-3\">\n<div class=\"col-md-5\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/Research-Projects\/IYAFA\/Images\/FAO_course_istock.jpg\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 199px;\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-7\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<strong>FAO-UWI course \u2013 Addressing the climate change and poverty nexus<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tUWI [CERMES on behalf of The Global Institute for Climate Smart and Resilient Development (GICSRD)] has co-developed with FAO, and will be jointly offering, the online course \u2019Addressing the climate-change and poverty nexus: an introduction to climate-poverty interactions and entry points for addressing them\u2019\u2014from May 2nd to June 30th, 2022.
