Projects: Community-based Coral Reef Monitoring and Management
The engagement of children in management of coral reef and related marine resources is important for long term responsible attitude and behaviour towards the environment. The project will embark on two programmes which are children oriented and are expected to elicit positive environmental actions.

- Junior Coral Reef Ambassador Programme at Folkestone
This programme will involve four schools located near the Folkestone Marine Reserve. A manual will be produced focusing on environmental issues related to the park and also the island of Barbados . The Junior Ambassador will go through specialised training and other activities to graduate from the programme. This programme is a pilot project. - Folkestone Marine Reserve Summer Programme
This programme will be conducted at the reserve mainly targeting primary schools. The aim is to increase the awareness of the children regarding marine resources, their importance and human usage. The programme is expected to become an annual activity of reserve.
