Graduate programmes: MSc in Sustainable Energy Management
The MSc in Sustainable Energy Management is a taught Programme which aims to produce well-rounded graduates with competences in the management of energy transitions and transformations locally, regionally, and globally. The Programme covers globally- relevant elements of energy management, including policy and governance, economics and financing, technology, social and environmental impacts, as well as the inextricable linkages between energy and sustainable development with a common thread of low-carbon climate-resilient development. Practical case studies will be used to illuminate the particular and peculiar context and needs of SIDS.
The Programme is designed to respond to the growing need for capacity within the Caribbean region as countries transition increasingly towards alternate energy sources to better align with their economic development, whereby the traditional energy structure is evolving to accommodate a new energy mix. It is therefore targeted at professionals in the public, private and third sectors who must lead change, from small transition to large transformation, to use more renewable and sustainable energy sources. The Programme will be regularly evaluated to determine whether it is addressing the most critical needs of the Caribbean region within the context of energy transition and transformation.
The MSc Sustainable Energy Management Programme is delivered in a blended format and comprises a series of 3-credits modular courses (listed below), with a research project worth 9 credits for a total of 45 credits to complete the Programme.
