The University of the West Indies

at Cave Hill, Barbados

As a unit within the Office of the Principal, the Campus Quality Assurance Office (CQAO) supports high quality educational provision at The UWI Cave Hill Campus, as described in the Campus’ Student Charter. The CQAO is responsible for gathering and using stakeholder insight to inform quality enhancement and institutional effectiveness initiatives on Campus, in line with our Student Charter commitments. The CQAO also advises on the development of quality assurance policies and procedures at Campus and University level.

We provide Insight and Institutional Effectiveness services to support Faculties, Departments and Units at Cave Hill. See our Services page for details on how we can help and our Projects page for more information on our current initiatives.

Our work is designed to support the Student Charter, which establishes a partnership between students and staff in ensuring high quality education at Cave Hill. For more details on the Charter, see our Student Charter page, which also includes links to resources to help both students (see For Students) and staff (see For Staff) meet their Charter commitments.

The CQAO also coordinates the Campus’ PULSE Programme – Positioning the University to Lead through Service Excellence. The programme is based on the service values established in the Student Charter – attentiveness, efficiency, courtesy and equity. See our PULSE section to find out how students and staff can participate in our employee recognition programme, PULSE Points, and to access service excellence resources and guides.

We would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us for additional information or to provide feedback on our work.
