Sip & Paint Scholarship Fundraiser

Our first Sip and Paint Scholarship Fundraiser held in 2020 was a great success.  This year, because of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are moving the fun to an online platform.   More persons can participate safely from anywhere in the world!

On May 8, 2021 at 5:00 pm in the comfort of your home, with family and friends, if you choose, you will have the opportunity to connect via Zoom with other at home painters who want to have fun, while supporting a great cause. All funds raised will go to our Campaign for Scholarships, Grants and Bursaries for students in financial need at the Campus.

During the event, we will be spinning the virtual wheel to select a winner of a prize of a beautiful original painting kindly donated by outstanding Barbadian artist, Rodney Ifill, valued at BDS$500.

How will it work?
One of Barbados’ finest painters, Neville Legall  and our own in-house artist Allison Johnson will take you step by step through the process of creating a beautiful painting, which can be a great gift for Mother’s Day.  Or you and mom can paint together as part of a safe and enjoyable Mother’s Day treat.  No art experience or skill is necessary.
How do I register and pay?
Click here to register and pay online via credit card.  The cost for the event is BDS$55, which includes all the paint supplies and a gift of your choice of a mini bottle of wine (alcoholic), a bottle of non-alcoholic wine or mini chocolate favours.  If you are not in Barbados, or you prefer, you can secure your own paint supplies and register for a cost of BDS$25.
What paint supplies are needed and how will I get them?
Included in the package will be:
  • Three (3) paint brushes
    • 1/2 or 5/8 flat brush
    • 3-4 or 6-7 round brush
    • meduim round brush

  • Artist paint in five (5) colours

    • Cobalt Blue
    • Cerulean Blue

You will need to purchase these supplies if you opt for the BDS$25 package.  If you opt for the BDS$55 package, we can deliver your package to you at no additional cost, or you can arrange to collect it from our office, provided there are no circumstances forcing the physical closure of the Campus.
Where in my home should I paint and what do I need?
Choose a comfortable space in your home where you have a table with some space and some room to manoeuvre.  You should cover your table with a plastic tablecloth in case of any spills.  You will need to provide a small plastic cup with water and a plastic plate for mixing paints.

For a better experience, it is not advisable to use a cellphone.  A PC, tablet or laptop with audio and video capacity (camera and microphone) and internet connectivity will give you the best experience.  We want everyone to see and hear each other.  You should also ensure that you have Windows 10 or higher and the latest version of Zoom.

Once you register, you will be sent the Zoom link for the meeting and the passcode.  It’s a good idea to test your tech before the event. Make sure your connection is working, turn your camera on, and double-check your microphone and speakers.
What do I do on the day?
Once you are set up at home in your space, with your art kit and your technology ready to go, just click on the link to join the party and prepare to spend an entertaining evening creating your unique masterpiece.  You should log in at 4:45 pm to ensure that you are all set.  You may want to purchase additional wine and snacks. You may want to make it a small party in your safe bubble following all the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

Let's have fun with this inaugural live online paint party! You will not be disappointed!
Thank you!
