Training Workshop - The Do's and Don'ts of Securing Event Sponsorship
“The Do’s and Don’ts of Securing Event Sponsorship,” was held on February 19-21, 2024, in The Shell Suite of the Solutions Centre at Cave Hill. The main aims of the Training Workshop were to assist participants in:
- Refining their strategies for securing sponsorship from external partners for their events.
- Better understanding how to find the right sponsors for their events.
- Improving their sponsorship appeal letters and proposals.
- Better understanding the decision making processes of sponsors.
- Better managing their relationships with sponsors.
A panel of corporate sponsors shared information on how their organisations approach sponsorship. They were:
- Mr. Rodney King, Senior Brand Manager of Bryden Stokes;
- Ms. Stacy Mottley, Community Relations Officer of BPWCCUL; and
- Mrs. Raydeen Hunte, Network Brand Manager of Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL

Innovate! 2024 The Cave Hill New Venture Challenge
The Innovate! The Cave Hill Campus New Venture Challenge is a remarkable initiative organized by The Office of Business Development at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus and sponsored by CIBC Caribbean. This competition aims to encourage and reward staff for their innovative and impactful ideas that contribute to generating income for their unit/department and the Campus.
In the
provided videos, the 2022 Innovate! winners share practical advice and insights based on their experience in the competition. These videos can help current participants understand what it takes to develop a successful proposal and navigate the competition effectively.
Participants of the Innovate! Cave Hill New Business Venture Challenge 2024 attended training sessions designed to help them prepare a comprehensive business plan. Communication Skills For Every Purpose by Sir Henry Fraser
During The UWI World Quality Week 2023, Sir Henry Fraser conducted two workshops for UWI students and staff on November 7th and 9th.
