th, Wildlife Hunting and Consumption in the Caribbean’ was the chosen theme for the second virtual Panel Discussion in the Caribbean Wildlife Initiative webinar series. This session explored the global and regional views of wildlife hunting, ‘wild meat’ consumption, agriculture, tourism and health. How is the Caribbean handling its wildlife hunting and ‘wild meat’ consumption practices? The current challenges and opportunities with ‘wild meat’ trade, border security and public health, and how can the existing regional legal frameworks and law enforcement efforts be improved, were discussed amongst panelist and attendees.

th, 2021, the panelist for the session were: Dr. Michele Singh, Wildlife Biologist, CARDI; Dr. Nathalie Van Vliet, Wildlife and Livelihoods Expert, CIFOR/SWM; Dr. Rod Suepaul, Wildlife Veterinarian, UWI (St. Augustine) and Dr. Tarja Sironen, Associate Professor of Emergine Infectious Diseases, University of Helsinki. Moderating the session was Dr. Kirk Douglas, CBS Director.
