About the Programme

The General LL.M. Programme is designed for persons who have a wide range of interests and wish to undertake courses from more than one of the LL.M. specialisations.

What Will I Study?

  • About the theoretical issues embedded in the whole area of Constitutional and Administrative Law.
  • The regulations and principles that underpin Corporate and Commercial Law in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
  • The issues that lie at the centre of Intellectual Property Law in the Commonwealth Caribbean.

Programme Details

Candidates for the UWI LL.M. Degree must complete thirty-six (36) credit hours of the designated course of study comprised of six (6) courses of six (6) credits each.

Students can select from any courses offered in the UWI LLM programme.

Students unable to complete the full UWI LLM are eligible to receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Law upon successful completion of four (4) courses, of six (6) credits each.

To be eligible for admission, applicants:

-    must hold a LL.B. degree, or any other professional legal qualification with at least Second Class Honours
-    must be admitted to practise in any part of the Commonwealth;
-    should also be certified as being in practice for a minimum of five years.

We offer low tuition fees and several scholarships and financial aid are available.

LL.M. Programme fee: BDS $20,000 (US $10,000) 
Postgraduate Dip. Programme fee: BDS $13,300 (US $6,650) 
Plus ID Card Fee - BDS $30.00 (US $15.00) 
Plus UWI Registration fees – BDS $520.00 (US $260.00) per semester.
