The Associate Degree in the Caribbean
with Particular Reference to the OECS


During 1998-2002 the TLI Unit was contracted by the OECS to assist in the development of Associate Degrees and articulation of these associated degrees with the UWI.  Through consultations with the UWI, colleges and universities, the Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions (ACTI) and the Caribbean Examination council (CXC) some common understandings have emerged about the Associate Degrees in the Caribbean.

The book is a documentation of these understandings and a compilation of eight general education course outlines developed by the region which embody current and acceptable standards endorsed by colleges and universities from the entire CARICOM.

Complimentary copies were sent to TLIs currently on our mailing list. 

When an institution indicates an interest in having one  of its programmes assessed by UWI for the award to its graduates of matriculation status or advanced placement in  UWI Bachelor's degree programmes, a set of procedures must be followed...

Special Projects

The TLIU has undertaken several special projects in its drive for collaboration and co-operation within the Caribbean Tertiary Education system.
