VISION AND FORTITUDE
WHAT IS VISION AND FORTITUDE
The Vision and Fortitude programme is the brainchild of the Principal of The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles and was initiated in September 2006 as a means of enhancing the holistic approach to education. It focusses on student empowerment and its overall aim is to help students develop life skills to facilitate their personal success. This programme seeks to administer to the mental, emotional and spiritual needs of students and to reach out to the wider community.
The opportunity to Join, Learn, Do, and Reach Out...
It is intended to help students begin to explore their value system, personal resourcefulness and to examine how these values either facilitate or militate against their success. Vision and Fortitude is also intended to help students develop more functional ways of creating personal success and taking personal responsibility for their growth and development.
Students will be encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings through open discussions and the arts, such as poetry and music, and other art forms.
