About the Office of the Principal

Professor Sir Hilary Beckles is Pro-Vice Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Cave Hill Campus.

Sir Hilary has overall responsibility for the academic, administrative and financial management of the Campus. In addition to the Principal, the Office includes an executive assistant, a personal assistant, an administrative assistant and a secretary.

The following specialised offices report directly to the Principal:

• The Business Development Office (BDO)
  The BDO acts as the campus’ corporate interface with the external community. It has been established specifically to build partnerships with Government, the corporate and donor community, and UWI alumni.
  
  
• The Campus Quality Assurance Programme Office
  The main function of the Campus Quality Assurance Programme Office is to facilitate the development, management, assurance and enhancement of quality at the Cave Hill Campus.
  
  
• The Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO)
  Information technology leadership has always been important, but given the ongoing challenges facing higher education, it is essential for not only cost-effective operations but long-term strategic success. The CIO is the driver for this, the mission being to align ICT objectives and programs to enterprise objectives and strategies.
  
  
• The Marketing Office
  
  
• The International Office
  The International Office promotes study abroad and facilitates academic exchanges for students and faculty. It also negotiates strategic partnerships with foreign universities, international bodies, foundations and the international private sector, so as to continue to enhance the campus and university goals of excellence in teaching and learning and research.
  
  
• The Office of Public Relations
  The Office of Public Information executes the campus’s communication strategies and liaises with other departments to promote UWI-related events, research and accomplishments.
