Featured Staff - Gerard Prescod
Gerard Prescod is a man of few words but he takes his job as Security Offier seriously.  Gerard has been a staff member at The University of the West Indies for the past 6 years.  Even though he loves his job, he is of the opinion that although the University has a unique organisational culture, it has room for reformation, such as with its processes and procedures.

Gerard's belief in personal development not only lead him to pursue his BSc in Political Science but he is currently reading for his Master in Labour and Employment Relations.

Gerard's persona is one that speaks to his character and belief in holding himself and others accountable.  His service record hightlights his various membership; past member of Board of Management member of the Graydon Sealy Secondary School; Barbados Worker's Union Executive and the Parish Independence Committee.  He is currently a member of the Pride of Barbados Optimist club and formely a member of the Ernst and Young Optimist Club as well as the Chairperson of the Representative Committee of the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union.  Gerard describes himself as a scoial activist "he gets involved in any activity that helps bring about chnage or give guidance to others".

Mr. Prescod is also talented with this hands as a certified carpenter and
joiner.  He creates masterpieces out of ordinary pieces of wood.

His love for his family, includes his affection for dogs and for Gerard it is true that dogs are a man's best friend.

Gerard lives by the title of the song Al Jarreau - "Try a little tenderness" and the quote from Nelson Mandela which states: "The world will step aside and give way to a man who knows where he is going".
