Projects

IGDS: NBU engages in a variety of projects aimed at deepening the Caribbean's understanding gender relations and promoting gender-responsive human relations. These projects often combine our research, outreach and teaching interests, allowing us to bring our expertise to bear in a range of areas. Our current focus ranges from gender in relation to education, the economy, the law and the family to sexual orientation, gender identity and human rights protections. We are also hoping to address sexual violence, leadership and the potential of youth as agents of change.

Quotes

" Migration and political violence, the themes I have addressed, represent two instances in which, through our practices, we have created the stranger at the doorstep and in our midst. We might think that the stranger helps to reinforce a sense of who 'we' are, but if we continue to go own this road, it will not be long before the stranger takes up permanent residence inside each of us.
