What if I miss my examination because...
 

Question 1: What if I am ill for an examination?

Answer: Students should seek medical attention at the Student Health Clinic. Alternatively if the student cannot get to the clinic and seeks medical attention from a private doctor, hospital or clinic, documentation from these sources should be submitted to the Student Health Clinic within 7 days of the examination.
 


Question 2: What if there is a medical emergency in my immediate family - for example parent, spouse, child - and I am responsible for taking care of the ill relative?

Answer: Write the Dean explaining the situation and attach documentation from the medical practitioner to your letter in support of your request for examination consideration.
 


 

Question 3: What if a close relative has died and I am mentally unable to concentrate on my examination(s) at this time?

Answer: Write the Dean explaining the circumstance and attach documentation to the letter (death certificate/funeral pamphlet/medical documentation) to support your request for examination consideration.



Question 4: What if I am unable to attend my examination because of work obligations?

Answer:
Write the Dean to outlining your circumstance and attach correspondence from your employer to support your request for examination consideration.
 



Question 5: What if I am involved in an accident en route to my examination?

Answer: Write the Dean to notify him of the situation and attach documentation (accident report from the police, medical documentation from Accident and Emergency or other medical institution if needed) to support your request for examination consideration.
 


 

Question 6: What if I misread the time and/or date of my exam from the examination timetable?

Answer: Unfortunately, no consideration will be given for this circumstance. The responsibility lies with the student to correctly note the date and time of his/her examination from the draft AND final examination timetable. You will be required to re-register for and retake the full course.


 

Question 7: What if I am late for my examination?

Answer: You have up to 30 minutes after the start of the examination to report to the examination room. If you arrive later than this you should report to the Student Affairs Examinations Section.
