Continuing Education

Diploma in Information Technology

Completion of the Certificate in Information Technology is the normal entry requirement for the Diploma programme but persons with appropriate experience may be admitted directly. Students completing the Diploma will be in an excellent position to understand and manage information technology issues in the workplace. This professional programme is run over three semesters, 5.00 – 9.00 pm, in the Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics.

The programme of courses is as follows:

Semester 1
Computing in Business
E-Business Fundamentals
Database Systems: Level II

Semester 2
Introduction to Website Development
IT Project Management
Basic Networking and Security

Semester 3
Introduction to Wireless Technology & Services
Information Technology & Society
Elective of either
Business Programming or
Desktop Publishing Level II
