The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) at Cave Hill officially opened its doors on September 1, 2008 to 40 medical students enrolled in the MBBS.
The Dean, Professor Joseph M. Branday, assumed the duties of FMS Dean on August 1, 2010. He is joined by seven basic science faculty members who comprise the founding faculty recruited in 2008. The basic science faculty are primarily responsible for the delivery of Phase I curriculum. In addition, the faculty is supported by Dr. Priscilla Richardson, the Director of Medical Education and Mrs. Heather Hennis, Lecturer, Measurment and Quality Assurance.
The basic medical sciences faculty (Phase I) members are listed below. The Clinical faculty (Phase II) comprise some 20 full time and some 80 associate and part-time faculty members, some of whom also contribute to the Phase I programme.
