Fees
Payable to the University
The fees payable to the University are charged on a full time or per credit basis.
Students in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences taking twenty-seven(27) or more credits and those in the Faculties of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education and law taking
twenty-four (24) or more credits are charged the full-time fee.
Students taking fewer credits / courses are classified as part-time and are charged fees on a
per-credit basis.
Part-time students can register for a maximum
of three courses per semester.
Students registered in the Faculty of Law and in the School of Clinical Medicine and Research are charged a fixed full-time fee or part-time fee.
The cost of delivery of the teaching programme is made up of a tuition fee of 20% and the 'economic cost' of 80%.
The Governments of the 'Contributing Countries' normally sponsor their nationals by paying their 'economic cost' (80%), while the students pay the tuition fee on their own. The Barbados Government provides full sponsorship for its nationals by paying both the tuition fee and the 'economic cost' for the minimum period required for a first degree, plus one additional year where necessary. This applies to the pursuit of one degree only.
Nationals of the non-Campus Countries receive a discount of approximately 66% on the full cost.
Students from 'Contributing Countries' who are not sponsored by their Governments and students from non-Contributing Countries, are responsible for paying their own economic cost and tuition fees.
All students are required to pay the University fee.
