There are several scholarships and bursaries available to undergraduate and graduate
students.

Anthony & Joy Bland Scholarships
NO OF AWARDS: (1) TWO (2) SCHOLARSHIPS (2) ONE BURSARY
ELIGIBILITY: Caribbean Nationals reading for a degree in LAW who have completed Part I and are registered to continue in Parts II and III of the LLB programme.
CRITERIA: Academic merit but some consideration may be given to financial need.
TENURE:

ELIGIBILITY: Nationals of Barbados who have completed Level I of the programme reading for a degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.

ELIGIBILITY: Barbadian national
DEGREE: Major in Management Studies including courses in Industrial Relations

Barbados Olympic Association Scholarships
ELIGIBILITY: Two (2) 4-year awards to nationals of Barbados who:
(1) have obtained admission to the UWI, Cave Hill Campus to read for a first degree in any field of study.
(2) Achieved a high level of performance in at least one sporting discipline under the aegis of the International Olympic Committee.
CRITERIA: Academic Merit and sporting performance.
VALUE: BD$2,500.00 each per annum.

Barbados Shipping & Trading Co. Ltd. Scholarships
ELIGIBILITY:– Two 2-year awards to nationals of Barbados;
One (1) for a student reading for a degree in Management Studies and the other majoring Computer Science/Information Technology and Management/Accounting.
Should be entering Level II of the programme and under 25 years of age. Minimum B+ average.

CampusBoyz® Entertainment Educational Bursary
ELIGIBILITY: The Awards are open to CARICOM nationals who have gained admission to the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus to read for a degree in any discipline. Candidates must be between 16 – 25 years of age and in their first year of full-time studies.

The Dr Carol Jacobs Scholarship of the Optimist Club of Ernst & Young
ELIGIBILITY: Nationals of Barbados who have completed the first year of study in the Faculty of Pure & Applied Sciences. In addition, candidates involved in some voluntary organization that caters to the needs of the community will be deemed more eligible to receive such an award.

Chefette Restaurants Scholarships
NO. OF SCHOLARSHIPS: Four (4)
ELIGIBILITY:
(a) The scholarships shall be awarded annually and shall be open to nationals of Barbados who are the children of staff members of Chefette Restaurants Ltd., who have gained admission to The University of the West Indies to read a degree in any discipline.
(b) In the event that no applicant eligible under (a) above qualifies for the Scholarships, the awards shall also be open to other nationals of Barbados who are full-time students at the Cave Hill Campus.
CRITERIA: The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
TENURE: Up to three (3 ) years

Edmund Cohen Scholarship
NO. OF AWARDS: One (1)
ELIGIBILITY: Nationals of Barbados and countries of the OECS who gained admission to the Cave Hill Campus to pursue a first degree programme in Medical Sciences or are in the Level II or III programme of the Faculty of Pure & Applied Sciences, majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Physics. In the case of applicants from the Faculty of Pure & Applied Sciences, preference will be given to persons pursuing courses in Energy related studies.

Goddard Enterprises Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Open to nationals of Barbados, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines registered in Accounting, Agriculture, Computer Science, Engineering and Management Studies, in the Level II/III programmes at any Campus of the UWI. Priority will be given to students pursuing a degree majoring either in Computer Science or Management Studies.

Herman C. Stoute Memorial Fund Scholarships
Four (4) Scholarships are available:
Three (3) for Barbadian nationals who are past students of Combermere School and
One (1) for nationals of Commonwealth Caribbean Countries - other than Barbados - contributing to the University of the West Indies .
1) Barbadian Nationals
WHERE TENABLE: Scholarship is tenable at any campus of the UWI but must be held at the Cave Hill Campus if the intended undergraduate degree is available at that campus.
ELIGIBILITY: Past students of Combermere School who have been accepted by UWI to pursue a degree programme

The Pfizer Caribbean Science Prize
ELIGIBILITY : Students registered for a major in Biology, Chemistry or their sub-disciplines in the Department of Biological & Chemical Sciences and have completed Level II of the programme.
CRITERIA:On the basis of meritorious performance in the Level II courses. Consideration will also be given to involvement in extracurricular activities.

The Police Wives Association [Barbados] Scholarships
NO. OF SCHOLARSHIPS : TWO (3)
- The Police Wives Association Award – Open to all persons pursuing study leading to a degree. Special consideration will be given to children of persons directly employed with Law enforcement agencies.
- The Police Wives Association Bursary – Open to any person pursuing post secondary or tertiary level qualifications. A limited number will be awarded.
CRITERIA: Academic merit and financial need

Pricewaterhousecoopers Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: 2-year award to nationals of Antigua, Barbados, Grenada and St. Lucia entering the Level II programme and reading for a degree majoring in Accounting, Management or Computer Science.

The Ralph Boyce Scholarships
NO. OF SCHOLARSHIPS : TWO (2)
ELIGIBILITY : The Scholarships are open to nationals of Barbados who have gained admission to any campus of the University of the West Indies to read for a degree in any discipline. Candidates must be between ages of 16 – 25 years of age; must be members in good standing of the Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited for at least three (3) years.
CRITERIA: Academic merit and financial need
TENURE: UP to four (4) Years
VALUE: BDS$7,500.00 for studies at Cave Hill Campus, BDS$9,000.00 for studies at any other Campus of the University of the West Indies to be paid in equal parts over a three or four year period.

The Richard Cheltenham Q.C. Scholarships
NO. OF SCHOLARSHIPS : TWO (2) and ONE (1) Grant
ELIGIBILITY : The scholarships are open to nationals of Barbados and countries of the OECS who have gained admission to the University of the West Indies , Cave Hill Campus to read for a Degree in the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The Scotia Bank Barbados Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Nationals of Barbados under the age of 21 on the 31st December 2008.

The Sol Group Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Nationals of Anguilla , Antigua and Barbuda , Grenada and Carriacou, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Lucia, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Dominica and the British Virgin Islands who have gained admission to the University of the West Indies to read for a degree majoring in one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Computer Science or Management Studies.

Sylvia Gore Moseley Memorial Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all students of the University of the West Indies who have completed at least the first year of study in any Faculty at any Campus or in any of the countries of the UWI-12 and who are continuing into second or third year programmes in any Faculty at the Cave Hill Campus.
CRITERIA: Financial Need. Academic performance should only be taken into account as a tie breaker.
VALUE: BDS$3,000.00 per annum. There will also be a textbook GRANT of $600.00.

Telford Georges Memorial Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Open to nationals of the Eastern Caribbean who are registered as full-time students in the Faculty of Law and is based on the Grade Point Average achieved on the Level I Law examinations of the LLB programme at the Cave Hill Campus.

VALUE: BDS$2, 500.00 per annum

The UWIAANY/Rex Nettleford Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: Available to students who are pursuing studies leading to a degree in the Faculty of Humanities & Education; registered in their final year of study.
CRITERIA: High academic achievement, verifiable financial need; involvement in co-curricular activities with particular interest in community service.

ELIGIBILITY: Members of the U.W.I. (Cave Hill) Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., or Children/wards of members, who have gained admission to any campus of the University of West Indies to read for a degree majoring in any discipline.
CRITERIA: Academic merit and financial need

The UWI Sports Award
ELIGIBILITY: The Award shall be open to nationals of the Caribbean Community other than the OECS who:
- Have gained admission, or qualified for admission for full time study at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus to read for a three-year degree programme in any discipline offered at the Campus.
- Have demonstrated an exceptional capacity for a high level of performance in a sports discipline; as verified by the Director of Sports. Initially the award will be offered for cricket.
CRITERIA: On the basis of sports performance, as assessed by the Director of Sports, together with evidence of capacity to complete the course of study. Evidence of financial need may also be considered.
TENURE: Up to three (3) years
VALUE:The value of the Award shall be equal to the value of the economic cost and tuition fees applicable to the Cave Hill Campus at the time of the award.
This award may not be held jointly with any other award where together the value is more than 15% of maintenance cost plus tuition fees.
