Henderson Carter

Henderson Carter is Lecturer in history at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus where he teaches West Indian history, business history and Slavery and the US Civil War. He obtained his PhD from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill in 2000 with the thesis ‘Resistance and Protest in Post Slavery Barbados, 1838-1904.’ He has since gone into the relatively new field of business history, producing the ground-breaking study ‘Business in Bim’ in 2007. He brings a wealth of teaching experience to his classes, having spent 14 years teaching at the post-secondary level. Dr. Carter is also the Convener of the CXC Syllabus Review Panel for Caribbean History.
